There’s a new “premium sneaker boutique” coming to Bed Stuy. The Bed Stuy Blog spotted the new shop called Sole Survivor getting ready to launch at 378 Tompkins Avenue between Putnam and Jefferson. We wonder how it will stack up against Fort Greene’s recently opened Pedigree Sneaker Gallery?

  1. Well at the end of the day, I think this is great for the neighborhood! We are seeing some parts of Brooklyn being developed, and with all of these new condo/rental developments, and I think we need more people willing to invest into neighborhoods, with new businesses, and so forth! There are a lot of closed gates on Tompkins Avenue, and the fact that someone is doing something positive for the area I think is a blessing! And besides, most of the Sneaker Boutiques are in the city, so its nice to have some of what u usually see in Manhattan, come here in our neighborhood in Brooklyn! All I can say is thanks for choosing Bed-Stuy!! Yeah!!!

  3. eh, I’d be broke too, if, as he said in the article I read regarding the sneakers, that he would wear them only a couple of times, and then throw them out because they no longer looked brand new. What an idiot, and a great role model for our kids. What’s really important? Not an education, a good job, nice home, nooooo. Brand new white sneakers, 365 days a year. Wonder how that’s working for him now.

  4. I’m not judging Rob, I just dont get it. spending 200+ on sneakers you aren’t going to wear?
That said, I dont wish bad on any new business, good luck to em, I’ll send my friends their way when they are back in town..

  5. I walk by the Fort Greene sneaker store at least once a day. Unfortunately I’ve never seen any customers in there.

@Montrose Damon’s collection didn’t do much for him. He’s broke.

  6. quote:
I have friends my age (@40) who collect sneakers, vinyl toys, and tshirts, I dont get it. Are they trying to buy their youth back?

if it makes them happy, who is anyone to judge?
