I think the Brooklyn cruise terminal lot should be used for a “Burning Man” like encampment.
I applaud the new guidelines on coop renovations! Last year, while on maternity leave with a newborn, I lived through my upstair’s neighbor’s massive gut renovation. While wandering the streets every day with my baby (having been constructively evicted from the apartment I OWN), I had a lot of time to contemplate lawsuits and other revenge scenarios, and STILL fantasize about it. I know “guidelines” aren’t binding, but this is welcome news.
Re Tishman Speyers- what goes around, comes around. They overpaid and then tried to get rid of tenants to convert to luxury apartments. “Great” strategy, really worked well for them. Not.
“Ironically, back in 2002, before the city and developer Bruce Ratner announced the Atlantic Yards project, members of the community protested the shelter coming into the neighborhood.”
Why is this NOT a surprise????!!!!!!
