  1. Oh yeah, suck on this too, 11217!

More banks looking to “globalize” the pain of the UK bonus tax – HSBC is close to following Deutsche Bank by spreading the impact of Alistair Darling’s 50 per cent bonus supertax among its staff around the world; Barclays and RBS are also considering similar decisions – London Independent.

  2. “$175K. Not too shabby. I’ll take that without a bonus any day.”

175 x 3 (fundamental median income multiplier) = $525K apartment (Hello One Brooklyn Bridge Park and Dumbo! Where else would these hotshot lawyers want to live?). Two attorneys, $1.05M brownstone (Hello Park Slope! Where else would such esteemed professionals want to live? Maybe add $0.18M more affordability for rental income).

Not too shabby when peak comps fall in half.

    ***Bid half off peak comps***

  3. stevie, do you know what’s the first year associate salary in Cravath is without a bonus? I’ll tell ya…. $175K. Not too shabby. I’ll take that without a bonus any day.

$175K a year and they still expect a bonus????? At least it is not as obscene as the $30 billion dollars that the TARP bank club is handing out this year.

Meanwhile, I am torn between applebees for Christmas eve dinner for the family or a toy for my little girl who is living by herself in a group home in the Bronx. Ughh!!!!
