LC Arnett: Under Article II, Chapter 5, Section 52-731 of the Zoning Regulation, a non-conforming advertising sign in a residence district may be continued for only 10 years after December 15, 1961. For the reasons described by brokestone, this advertising sign is non-conforming. Accordingly, this advertising sign is illegal.
I think the sign predates the zoning. Its been there as long as I can remember, which is to say at least 40 years.
Charles Barron is a scoundrel.
A scoundrel and a hater.
Nothing like having the courage of your convictions, hey Mr. Bloomberg? Not to mention the program under which this move towards energy efficiency was going to be done would have, according to them created 19,000 jobs- a large number of which would have come from those doing the audits. Now they estimate only bout 5000 jobs will be created. Yes- thanks for coming to your senses, Mr. Bloomberg. If you want to call it that.
Charles Barron aint no punk.
***Bid half off peak comps***
Great to see this illegal out of zone sign which is the main draw for prostitution on lefferts place is still lit up. Am I the only person that has noticed this? The block is R6B.
Zoning Regulation requirements:
1. Signs MAY NOT BE ILLUMINATED.
2. For multiple dwellings, identification sign may have an area not exceeding 12 square feet and indicating ONLY the name of the permitted use, the name or address of the building, or the name of the management thereof. (I.e., phone number NOT permitted.) One sign only, unless on a corner lot or through lot, in which case one sign is permitted on each street.
3. Sign MAY NOT EXTEND ABOVE THE GROUND FLOOR CEILING, or more than 20 feet above curb level, whichever is less.
Good to see that Mayor Bloomberg is coming to his senses on the building energy use issue.
Charles Barron always comes across as such a level-headed, restrained, insightful guy when you see him at a news conference!
