I love Judith Supine.
I have a house in Nassau county. I’m doing an oil to gas conversion. It’s a one story ranch, with no basement (cement slab), the boiler room is in the interior of the house. The old/original boiler from 1949 will be removed and a furnace will be put in the attic/craw space (there is forced hot air). In the boiler room a new hot water heater will be installed.
DO I NEED TO RELINE THE CHIMNEY IF I AM ONLY VENTING THE HOT WATER HEATER? I’ve gotten conflicting answers from different contractors. This house was built in 1949, using this old oil boiler vented thru this chimney, and I’m sure nothing was ever done as far as repair.
Please advise.
