traffic calming is making streets safer.
Brownstoner’s description of the topic on Hawthorne Street’s blog, “making streets safer” makes it sound like the group is addressing a crime issue. The group is addressing traffic calming. And there’s a specific term for that. It’s “traffic calming”. It uses less space in the box and would have actually been accurate.

the grand street re-zoning will hurt renters. ironically, so many seem to be for the down zoning. but, they forget that there is a critical housing shortage.
renters plan development for being displaced, but really it’s just supply and demand. no supply, charge lots of rent.
