there are a number of buildings in Brooklyn Heights that look like they were last renovated in 1960. By and large those are buildings with old-time rent control and rent-regulated tenants who will never let go. They pay a pittance to live in glorious decrepitude. Brooklyn Heights has some of the orneriest rent-protected tenants anywhere.
