It was only five months ago that we were reporting on the new establishment at 5 Front Street in Dumbo that was calling itself Brooklyn Bridge Gardens. Evidently things didn’t go quite as well as planned because it’s just undergone a makeover–or at least a rebranding. The new spot is called Pub One, and it’ll feature a wide range of specialty burgers, according to a press release we received.
Good choice for Pub as B&T visitors to dumbo tend to congregate around this end of the village, going to One Front, Water Street Grill and Grimaldis where locals go to the other side of the Manhattan Bridge.
Pub has a superb garden. We’ll miss Paul Vicino, who had Five Front as is now cooking at Brooklyn English on Bergen, to great success.
The location is cursed by poor management. 5 Front had very good food but the service was “quicky” to say the least — and then they stopped taking credit cards!
Looking forward. Love a good burger.
