korhogo-0309.jpgThe limited dining options in the Columbia Waterfront District just got a little narrower. At least for the time being. According to the Realty Collective blog, the African-French fusion spot has been shuttered by DOH for a long list of violations. As RC points out, this takes them out of the picture for Dine in Brooklyn festivities. Does this come as a surprise? GMAP

  1. Kind of funny when Piccolo Cafe right around the corner illegally exhausts right onto the sidewalk. I can’t walk down the street anymore without getting covered in french fry grease. Clearly Piccolo Cafe is in bed with the Department of Health since they don’t seem to be getting any health violations and I’m sure the exhaust situation is just the beginning of the violations they are committing.

  2. We were just finishing our dinner last May 16 when the guy at the next table (who I had assumed was the owner finishing up business for the day, because of the file folders and papers) got up, walked over to the front door, taped a piece of paper up, chatted for a minute with the real owner, and then left. The staff continued on as usual, and I realized that the note on the door was the notice of health department closure. 81 violations. We had already nearly finished eating, and the food was actually very good. I gingerly finished my dessert, looking out for mouse droppings. Too bad they haven’t really straightened things out since then.
