Tomorrow could be a historic day in the history of the troubled corner of Grand and Putnam Avenues. The much-anticipated (by us, at least!) bar is set to open tomorrow in the former plumbing store space at 441 Grand Avenue, according to a tipster who popped his head in yesterday. We’re still on the other side of the pond but would be eternally grateful for any photographic evidence that the place, which we’re referring to as the Fulton Grand Bar until someone tells us its actual name, is open for business. Hopefully it’ll be packed with locals who want to ensure that the draft beer replaces crack as the intoxicant of choice on the corner. UPDATE: We just received an email that the bar will NOT in fact open on Saturday. We hope to have more information soon.
Fulton Grand Bar to Open Next Month [Brownstoner] GMAP
Hello Again,
The Fulton Grand will be opening this Wednesday, August 4th at 8pm.
We will be running happy hour specials – $2 off everything – all night long.
Hope to see you there!
Cheers!
Crack vs alcohol. Is there really a winner….not. I hate that a bar is opening in this spot on that corner.I am not excited.
Hello Everyone,
All of us here at The Fulton Grand regret to say that we will not be opening on Saturday, July 17th.
Information regarding the opening will be posted here as soon as it is available.
Thank you to every who has posted kind thoughts. We apologize for any inconvenience and look forward to seeing you in the future.
Cheers!
How exciting! There are a bunch of other exciting developments happening on the stretch of Fulton between Grand and Classon. The Fairview Funeral Home is expanding into the long vacant buildings next door; the large empty building on the northeast corner of Classon is getting gutted and renovated into ground level businesses and 2/3 bedrooms upstairs (I chatted up a guy who said he was the owner yesterday – he said a new restaurant is going in the former liquor store and possibly a bakery in the long-gone bodega); and BOTH the Lefferts Hotel and the Pleasant Stay have gotten vacate orders from the city. Now if we could do something about the vacant industrial building on the south side of Fulton @ Irving…..
Friends are opening the place. I believe it will be called Fulton Grand. Prepare for good beer and good people.

i totally first read that as, he was on that corner and got popped in the head.

That’s very exciting. I guess they’re going for a hi-fi interior and an unassuming exterior.
I’ll be there as soon as I am allowed out of my house.
