The sign trumpeting the impending (or eventual) opening of a new market in the old Associated space in Concord Village at the corner of Tillary and Jay Streets just went up. The new store, news of which was first reported in the Brooklyn Paper last October, will be called the Concord Market. As the Brooklyn Eagle reported last November, it’s being opened by a 30-year resident of the housing complex. No word on where on the crappy-to-upscale spectrum the new place will be. It is a new market that’s relatively close to Farragut and Ingersoll though.

Concord Market is going to be a modern/upscale & affordable food market that will address the needs of the upper/middle class residents of the Concord Village Co-ops, in addition to the local office workers & college students of Downtown Brooklyn.
Construction is well underway and should be completed in the next few weeks.
Stop by and see the beautiful new storefront!
Why are they putting a supermarket there?
There nothing beautiful to tear down first.
yea it’s being run by the Vora family. they own a couple of convenience stores in downtown brooklyn…generally cheapie type places. they also ran the cafeteria at brooklyn friends school.
my guess is the place will be marginally better than associated…with the emphasis on marginally.
