  1. What’s the going market rate for human kindness ,pity and mercy ?

I suppose they hated their father and kicking out his 94 year old best friend is their way of spitting on their fathers grave. Lets just Face it …. They don’t need the bullshit market rate for the apartment, as they will need plenty of money to renovate the apartment …and a few months with out it generating any income …. And then a few more on the market.

They want to tap dance on daddys grave …that’s obvious.

The foolish father most likely trusted his children , he never installed anything in his will PROTECTING his buddy from them .As he most understandably could never conceive he would ever need to.
Most of us here are even having a hard time wrapping our heads around this and we don’t even know tha guy .

Raise your kids with a sense of decency, honor and kindness people.

///yikes when did I become so preachy

  2. I would totally agree with all of you who uses such a strong language. I do not use it myself only for one reason: I do not find it possible to subsidize this man’s rent from my own pocket. But I assume that you are in such high moral standing that you are willing to supply the difference between $800 and $2500 from you own pocket. Could someone provide the mailing address of evil landlords, so, this honest and highly moral people will send checks to cover the difference between $800 and rental market value?

But seriously: if this man was a dear friend, why their grandfather did not take care of his housing situation in his will? I think it would be a proper thing to do. If he was his dear close friend AND his tenant.
Also, I think that this is a perfect case when rent should be subsidized by local public funds. If this man was a good citizen his whole life and contributed to local community. I think that we pay our local taxes for this reason too.

  3. Good point, it’s not just what these people are doing to this man, but they are dishonoring their father.

Can’t someone post the names of these people? If these people truly believe it’s okay to do what they’ve done, then their names should be made public. Why are they hiding? They’re not only lacking in ethics and morals, and are disprespectful of their father, but they’re also cowards. Wow, those are some real winners, huh.

  4. Savages !
Rabid Jackals these grandkids of this 94 year olds BEST FRIEND NO LESS are ..
    .
    How much richer
will this really make them ?

    god DAm savages !

nobody lives forever and With any luck …this man should pass away in the apartment before he is FORCED out and haunt the Living shit out of that apartment and building to the financial ruin of these heart less owners .

YOUR FATHER MADE A DEAL …NOT JUST WITH ANYONE …BUT HIS BEST FRIEND .. AS HIS CHILDREN … YOU SHOULD HONOR SUCH A DEAL !

    SWINE!

  5. Seriously, Overlord, how much longer is the guy going to hang on anyway? It’s way more worth it to let him live out his days in peace, in terms of karma and lack of bad press if nothing else.

Or maybe we should just kill people once they’re no longer economically useful.

  6. The price of rent is set by market supply and demand. A 94 year old man doesn’t have a right to live in a prime Brooklyn neighborhood, in a prime Brooklyn building, just because he’s lived there all his life.

  7. I’m just disgusted at someone who would put a 94 year old man out of his home. If I had the name of those ungrateful grandchildren, I would send them a letter. What horrible people!
