Goldstein is such a phony. I recall the first time I ever heard about him. I lived at 521 Dean St, right behind the Newswalk bldg. It was just before he’d started his group, and he was in the NY Times article that focused in part on how the bldg he was in was a dud – frozen pipes, floods, non-working elevators. Goldstein himslf got stuck in the elevator!
Also the chick he was with at the time was quoted and as I recall didn’t exactly see eye to eye with his view of the looming AY situation, and subsequently dumped him. When the reporter interviewed Goldtstein, he showed every sign of “I feel sorry for myself” syndrome. It seemed that was ultimately as much a motivation to him to take on this “fight” as anything else. I guess he forgot to mention all of that in his Daily News interview.
