Maybe this is standard procedure in any fire, but a reader passing by 360 Myrtle Avenue yesterday, site of a major fire earlier this month, noticed some workers with the ominous title of Evidence Technician printed on the backs of their jumpsuits. Certainly suggests someone things there may be a chance that this wasn’t a natural fire. (Click on any of the images above to expand.)

  1. I dont know but the poor owner of the nail shop a few doors down. First the other nail shop is closed all these months cause of the bldg collapse across from Associated Supermarket on Myrtle off Hall and now this 2nd shop is shut because of the fire.Talk about bad luck. His last location is still going strong for now knock on wood.

  2. My understanding is investigators are mainly called
    – if there are deaths or serious injuries
    – for first alarm large structure fires
    – if the cause cant be determined by the command on scene
    – terror stuff (bombs, explosions)
    – suspected arson (obviously)
