According to the tipster who took this photo, the brownstone building at 1108 Fulton Street, formerly home to the Senegalese restaurant and jazz joint Yelélé and more recently the offices of the Weeksville Heritage Center, was gutted by a two-alarm fire early yesterday morning. “By the time I got over there the fire was out and FDNY was checking for extension,” he writes. “About 30 fire trucks, ambulances, etc. The building is gutted. Next-door neighbor is Goodwill – they looked like they did ok, besides the end of their awning.” Anyone witness the fire in full blaze? GMAP
Wow waited all day for a comment! Walked by it yesterday and it looks real bad. I hope the insurance money comes thru! Such a beautiful house.
