chandelierThe opening of Dressler, the latest restaurant by Williamsburg empire-builder Colin Devlin of Dumont and Dumont Burger reknown, has been getting a lot of ink in the local press in the last week. Located within spitting distance of Peter Luger’s, the restaurant is serving up “seasonal American” cuisine in a “quirky” artist-designed former print shop. The menu and wine list are tilted higher than the earlier two ventures but, according to multiple reviews, are worth the extra stretch. According to The Strong Buzz, the yummy apps (silky slices of smoked sturgeon on a potato gallete topped with a frisee and arugula salad tossed with bits of hard boiled egg for $10) are followed by killer mains (crispy-skinned snapper with baby bok choy, enoki mushrooms, and budding chives in a ginger-soy broth for $23) and deadly deserts (kaffir lime crème brulee). This one may be worth getting a sitter for.
