marty-food-0309.jpgYesterday at lunchtime, Marty Markowitz introduced the line-up for this year’s Dine in Brooklyn promotion, which runs from March 23 to April 2. “This is a great opportunity to experience some of the great restaurants you’ve been meaning to go to,” said the Beep. “And in this economy, it’s a good thing to take advantage of.” At a time when many restaurants are reporting declines in revenue of 30 to 40 percent, roughly 200 establishments plan to participate in the three-courses-for-$23 offering. High profile participants include Al Di La, Morton’s and The River Cafe. “Certainly, at $23 for a three-course meal, we’re not making a killing,” The Grocery’s co-owner and chef Sharon Pachter told The Daily News. “That’s not the point. We just want to bring in new people.” For a complete list of participating restaurants, check out visitbrooklyn.org.

  1. Quite a few of the participating restaurants notified their regulars via email of their participation in DIB and were booked up a week before the full list was released. A little shady, but an opportunity to try some of the lesser-known or out-of-the-way joints.
