As we mentioned earlier, The Knitting Factory, the formerly Manhattan-based music venue, decided to move to Brooklyn this year. We stopped by 361 Metropolitan in Williamsburg to see how the construction crew was faring. They had gutted the interior of the building and had begun renovations, but a member of the crew said “We still have a long way to go.” Since the club has scheduled it’s first show on September 9, it looks like they’ll be cutting it close. 1. management/bookers… imagine that the knitting factory knows their sh*t. don’t rule them out. it’s a great location IMO – easy to get to for the peeps in east williamsburg and bushwick in addition for people from the city.

  2. Why would knitting factory do any better than Luna Lounge in this location? Seems like Music Hall of Williamsburg fills the hood’s need for a mid-sized music venue, as evident with Luna Lounge closing previously.
