Clinton Hill Blog has the inside scoop on the soon-to-open “casual bistro” at 247 Dekalb Avenue that we reported on last month: It’s going to be a “gastropub” called Brooklyn Public House that will feature both a 30-foot bar with 16 beers on tap and a back room with booths and dining tables at which to partake of the mix of burgers, salads, fish and chips and pot pies. As for the decor, it’s going for an old-timey feel. GMAP

16 beers on tap!!!
no, that is very very awesome.
but if those 16 beers cost more than a bed stuy hooker, than no go.
sorry that was crassy i know.
*r*
I love this place already, ski hat and all.
i sometimes wear a winter hat on my head at home in the winter to keep warm because i have short hair and i keep the heat low in winter. i do wash my hair every day, i promise, and i also keep my hats clean!
i also like beer very much, also a warm atmosphere and decent food.
Who cares what they call it as long as it has good food and decent prices. Guess we’ll see when it actually opens. Lot’s of people with nothing better to do than sit at their computer and talk s***.
You all have missed the point. Whether or not it deserves to be called a gastropub or just a bar, the place will have 16 beers on tap.
16 beers on tap!!!
That’s welcome news for the neighborhood.
“British” — “culinary scene”
Historically, an oxymoron.

Great news. Nothing wrong with some new options for bars in the area.
Opening the mail I find a notice of a public hearing next week regarding an application to operate a sidewalk cafe at 247 Dekalb Avenue. Ha!
