We’re in the 13th week of sheltering in place and the 55th day of home schooling for New York City schools.

Protests continued Tuesday, with Jumaane Williams and Eric Adams appearing in Brooklyn. City reform efforts continue, de Blasio pledging $10 million for crisis management and community groups comprising the Cure Violence movement. “Black Lives Matter” will be painted on five streets in NYC, one per borough, de Blasio said Tuesday.

Details of planned cuts to police funding and increases in community funding are due June 30. The state repealed a law that keeps police disciplinary records secret.

Nonetheless, the NYPD police chief was MIA at a virtual City Council police oversight hearing.

Protests scheduled today in Brooklyn include one in East New York at 4 p.m., a bike ride starting at Grand Army Plaza at 6 p.m., and the nightly 7 p.m. vigil at McCarren Park.

The city’s Caribbean community is planning a massive march starting in Flatbush and ending with a rally at Grand Army Plaza Sunday, June 14. Its purpose is to show solidarity with African-Americans, and it will include demands for change, organizers said.

The Fed today predicted high unemployment for the next several years, including 9.3 percent at the end of this year and 5.5 percent unemployment in 2022, The New York Times reported.

Brooklyn residents are complaining about unfair treatment due to the city’s shutdown of playgrounds, and the city could revisit its policy as the reopening gets under way, The City reported.
