Closing Bell: New 'Organic' Jungle Gym for Prospect Park
There’s something new for the kids to climb on at the 3rd Street playground in Prospect Park. From the looks of this photo, though, it won’t be around for long.

I just donated to the Prospect Park clean up fund at prospectpark.org
Yeah, hurting yourself isn’t like it used to be.
No way on earth the Parks Dept would just leave that tree there for kids to play on. They only install playground equipment that has had all the fun engineered out of it. When was the last time you saw a seesaw or a diving board?
I remember once when my kids were little, a park cop came over and told them to get out of a tree they were climbing. They might have been five feet off the ground.
Butterfly, yes, but also I think to prevent slipping, and from a movie I saw, quickly throw into the eyes of someone if they’re about to fight you.
And really the fluids varied depending on the type of bar you frequent.
ew, none of that sawdust on bar floors please. wasnt that used in the 70s to soak up uhh, bodily fluids!?
*rob*
I would love if they turned it into sawdust to sprinkle on the floor of bars….I loved when places did that in the old days (i.e. 70’s 80’s).
So I take it that got a bit windy over the weekend.
The weather that is. I was upstate and missed it.
Rob and BSD;
Fear not: all is not lost. I’m sure there is a committee forming now to make sure that the wood chips are re-used in an appropriate manner.
Me too 🙁 I was all ready to go on a tirade about hippyuppie parents of Park Slope after reading the headline.
