Closing Bell: Spotlight on Bushwick Avenue North
Kevin Walsh, the mastermind behind the genius site Forgotten NY, has just uploaded a photo set to Flickr of the area he’s calling Bushwick Avenue North. The set includes close-ups of the thrift-meets-taxidermy store Zukkies as well as the Bushwick Public Library.

I do enjoy this neighborhood. Not the best-looking area in the world, but there is some seriously quirky sh*t! There’s an old latin bakery/diner on Grand near Bushwick that has the most unusual cakes you will EVER see in the window. Cake Boss has nothing on this place.
Perfect day for a walk along the L train starting at Graham/Metro and going all the way out to Ridgewood (which includes this stretch of Bushwick Ave) – may not be the prettiest, but there’s some interesting stuff to see.
