Back in the day, Bed-Stuy had its own television show. Recently, WNET caught up with the producer of that show, Charles Hobson. He was a producer for WBAI radio when he was approached to produce a news program about Bedford-Stuyvesant. “Robert F. Kennedy conceived a television series that would show the ‘real’ Bed-Stuy—a neighborhood of working families, students, artists and professionals.” The series ran for two years and captured some interviews with local celebrities, activists, and residents. You can watch excerpts of them at WNET’s website.
