The flea market at the Chelsea Garage, the last of the great Chelsea flea spots, is heading into its final months of existence, so it’s no surprise that a number of the vendors are jumping ship to the Brooklyn Flea. This weekend we’re happy to welcome three Garagers: Going Hollywood, Mara Vernaza and Katie McDonnell; read more about them and other first-timers here. If you haven’t won one of our weekly scavenger hunts yet, come rummage around on Sunday for, among other things, a pair of vintage binoculars. The Flea runs on Sunday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. at 176 Lafayette Avenue in Brooklyn; no bikes or dogs allowed in the market. Closest trains are the C and G to Washington/Clinton. You can also take any of the number of trains that go to Atlantic Station and walk up Lafayette Avenue from there. For more info, check out the Flea Blog.

  1. Would be nice if you could figure out how to get a big tent (like at weddings) that can be sent up early on Sundays and dismantled in the PM. I’m sure you’ve thought about it and looked into it. Would make sense if you could get one with clear or translucent roof panels.

Especially with the Chelsea flea market finally being pushed out 100%, you could use a sheltering system so the Flea can go all year.

I hope there is a break in the weather for Sunday!

    Keeping my fingers crossed!
