Closing Bell: Busting Out In The South Slope
A thief wasn’t messing around this weekend when he chained his truck to an ATM that was welded to the front of the furniture store at 564 5th Avenue in the South Slope and drove off with not only the cash but the roll-down gate as well.

Theives were driving a hybrid SUV.
This is amazingly awesome.
I guess that the “Vue”‘s aren’t all that they were trumpt up to be.
Its funny that all the people who wanted sooo much to be a part of a “Brooklyn” nabe never seem to see or hear anything that is going on right under there noses. Unless (of course) it effects them personally.
So much for being a part of the “community”
This is almost as bad as when that Park Slope lady stole my parking spot out from under me as I was backing in.
im bringin’ down the neighborhood, denton, dont you know!?!?
actually this does happen pretty often (not with a car obviously). it’s one of those crimes that most people dont get away with that easily tho. there was a whole rash of this happening on the LES last year.
*rob*
I’ve always wondered why this doesn’t happen more often. I see these machines out on the sidewalk and they seem like a pretty easy target.
This sort of thing does not happen in Bed Stuy.
Park Slope is a dangerous area.
Geeze! I have heard of trying to get a fast buck, but damn. Not so gentrified as everyone thinks, I guess.
So much for a up-in-coming “gated” community…sorry, had to.
