Closing Bell: Batten Down the Hatches
The rainy, windy weather over the weekend apparently took a toll on some trees around town. A reader shot the Carroll Gardens photo at Henry and President on Saturday, and another sent in pics of the damage on Washington Avenue between Dekalb and Willoughby. Other folks notice felled trees? (We didn’t.)

Noklissa, yes, it is right in front of 275 Washington. I was happy to see that it doesn’t appear to have grazed the building, although the fence took quite a hit. I love that beautiful building and keep hoping it will sell to someone who will take good care of it. Seems that it is being patched up a bit but it needs some drastic TLC.
I cut my tree in Clinton Hill down for this very reason. Trees are beautiful until they kill someone. If you want trees move upstate, there are plenty of them there.
A lot of broken branches in brooklyn Heights.
The windiest nabe. All our big trees blew down thirty years ago.
Isn’t that second picture right in front of the “money pit” mansion on Washington?
Yup, I noticed a few pretty big branches down in GAP. Didn’t think it was windy enough over the weekend. Guess I was wrong.
yup. caught downed stuff in midwood as well.
downed trees don’t limit themselves to certain neighborhoods, it happens all over.
