Call to Build an Indoor Rec Facility at BBP

Yesterday Brooklyn Bridge Park issued an RFP seeking a developer to build and operate an enclosed recreation facility on Pier 5. The design is supposed to consist of a soccer field that will be open from December through March every year starting in 2012. Pier 5, which is supposed to be finished next summer, will also have three outdoor turf fields, an esplanade, and a picnic area. Click through for a rendering of one of Pier 5’s outdoor fields.
