Let’s go fly a kite, up above the Manhattan skyline! The Brooklyn Kite Festival returns to Brooklyn Bridge Park this Saturday, September 19, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., for a day of soaring fun.
The annual all-ages celebration will offer free kite kits on a first-come, first-served basis. Kites will also be available for purchase or you can bring your own.
Technically, kites are included in the list of aerial devices (along with balloons) that the Parks Department does not allow to be flown without a permit, but that’s not an issue here since that’s who’s organizing the event.
