As the amount of sunlight decreases daily, there’s no better way to keep up your holiday cheer than taking in the colorful light displays all over Brooklyn. Here are five Christmas tree lighting ceremonies happening in Brooklyn this week and next. The trees will stay up for viewing throughout December.

Dumbo Holiday Tree Lighting
Pearl Street Triangle, Dumbo
December 1, 6-7 p.m.
This year’s event will have a Caribbean twist: There will a calypso band, in addition to an appearance by Santa Claus, and projections of yule logs on the Manhattan Bridge.

Metrotech Tree Lighting
Metrotech Center, Downtown Brooklyn
December 1, starts at 5 p.m.
This year’s celebration will feature a visit by Santa, live reindeer, and treats courtesy of Starbucks and La Defense.

Fort Greene Tree Lighting
Myrtle Avenue and Washington Park, Fort Greene
December 4, 4:30-6:30 p.m.
This year’s Fort Greene Park Tree Lighting will feature free hot cocoa from Castro’s Restaurant and cookies from Brooklyn Sweet Spot.

Atlantic Avenue Tree Lighting
401 Atlantic Avenue, Boerum Hill
December 8, 6-8 p.m.
The 2016 edition of the annual tree lighting will have food and refreshments, caroling, prizes and giveaways and a visit from Santa.

McKinley Park Tree Lighting
McKinley Park, Bay Ridge
December 8, 6:30 p.m.
Senator Marty Golden will be on hand to celebrate with a tree lighting and holiday celebration.
