Last Friday night, the Brooklyn Arts Council held a reception to kick off an exhibit that will be showing at the group’s gallery at 55 Washington Street in Dumbo for the next three months. Featuring 20 Brooklyn-based designers, the show aims to provide a view into the creative process that goes into creating everthing from jewelry to furniture to buildings. It turns out the exhibition is some kind of competition as well and guess who’s the judge? Brooklyn’s own Robert Scarano.
Depicting Design Exhibit [Brooklyn Arts Council]
WHAT WERE THEY THINKING when they made Scarano the curator of this show?
What a mistake! I suspect that whoever invited him is very embarrassed (or SHOULD be)–I would guess they were unaware of Scarano’s unsavory reputation and thought they were doing a positive thing by involving a “prominent” architect. AFAIK BAC is a otherwise a worthwhile organization, but they really laid an egg with this choice.
Can we bring rotten tomatoes to throw at Scarano? He’s ruining Brooklyn…
