People won’t talk about a good experience because it’s just expected, they will complain when they don’t get the service they deserve. I agree with your philosophy, landmarking is worth it. I’m doing a few brownstones in Boston in the Bay Village Historic District and over there LPC has stricter rules because more often then not they care about interiors as well. LPC in Boston is so much easier to deal with. It barely slows you down at all, and because it isn’t too time consuming it doesn’t cost so much to have professionals handle. If we could get to that level of operation here in NY I can see all resident and developers bubbling of excitement, as properties in land marks districts would be worth substantially more money.
