A friend of mine was in elementary school around the corner on 6th Ave when the disaster took place. All the kids “ducked and covered” as they’d been taught in the event of a nuclear attack. I understand local Slopers found little Stephen Baltz lying on a snow berm. They stopped a car and rushed him to Methodist Hospital a few blocks away. Such a tragedy.
