Seven on Seven Listings [Brooklyn Properties]
For those of you wondering about the design, it looks to be closely based on the Yale School of Architecture building by Paul Rudolph; for better or worse. A form of flattery??
I checked this place out two weeks ago, and I feel that they are overpriced. The developer kept the best unit in the building for himself, and all of the other units are overpriced by 100k per unit at least.
This will eventually go rental.
Snappy, I agree. Ive wondered aloud many a time abou the small DR/LR space – why people are willing to pay $600K+ for these small spaces. I get that develepers try to maximize their profits – as fewer buyers will pay that much for a similar sized one-bedroom – but who are these people who are willing to pay that much and can willingly and comfortably live with another (I presume most slope 2BR buyers are couples.. with possible baby plans..) in such small living spaces.
Ans yes, that couple who lives in the 150 SF studio near Columbia are crazy.
I haven’t seen the interiors. However, I will say that I like the exterior.
MOST ARE!!!! I can’t seem to recall ANY new developments that are NOT ugly.
Dave, i think thats YOUR problem…
btw, 9 out of 10 posts here in the blog are negative. can someone explain why is that???
“Completely refreshing” – sounds like a good line for that not-so-fresh feeling!
@Insert – indeed!! I walk by this place quite often & am utterly amazed at how the lower-level, street-facing units have teeny tiny liv/din/kit areas, dominated by the big staircase to the basement… you’d think new construction would improve upon old design, but noooooo…
I toured the complex next door during a big open house, and while the upper floor duplexes weren’t bad [tho in ’06, they were well-over a million], the 2 br’s were totally claustrophobic. And for anyone considering this block, beware that the old Citroen garage on 7th @ 3rd Ave is just aching to be replaced by a big condo tower, obliterating what views you currently have from the roof decks.
I don’t mind it too much. I hate the building to its right.
I must say I’m not offended by the building’s exterior. But then again, I’m no brownstone lover. It’s the interior layouts that get my blood boiling.
