49 Irving Place Comin' Round the Bend

There’s a new building going up at 49 Irving Place in Clinton Hill. According to the DOB permit, it’s a two-family. It’s hard to tell whether it’s basically a double townhouse or whether the two units are stacked on top of each other. Either way, plans call for roughly 6,000 square feet of space. Unlike the western side of this street, which features traditional brick homes and a school, this side is a motley crew of architectural styles, most of them rather unpleasing to the eye, so it’ll be interesting to see where on the spectrum this ends up.
