The eagle-eyed folks over at the Wyckoff Heights blog last week noticed a permit has been filed for a new five-story, 20-unit residential building at 19-23 Bleecker Street in Bushwick. The new build will be designed by architect Karl Fischer, who, although prolific, is not known for his inspired design. The forthcoming high rise replaces a sweet little wood frame, demolished in 2007. Click through to the jump to see a photo of it.

What ashame that this beautiful old wood frame had to be demolished to put up a tacky building instead of it being restored.
