A reader recently converted their boiler from oil to gas and wants to make sure the appropriate paperwork has been filed. Having an oil tank required an inspection from the Fire Department of New York City.

Now that the old oil tank has been removed they are unsure if they need to inform the fire department of the change. The plumber said that the Department of Buildings was informed but the owners don’t know what else might be necessary.

If you have experience or advice please chime in.
