Looking to open up the floorplan of their house, homeowners are contemplating removing load-bearing walls and installing a steel support beam. The building hasn’t had much structural work since it was built more than one hundred years ago and the homeowners aren’t looking to do a complete renovation. They are looking for some advice on what they might be facing before tackling the project.
