After getting approval from the neighbor, a co-op replaced an old fence between the yards. That neighbor has now filed a complaint with the DOB.

After getting approval from the neighbor, a co-op replaced an old fence between the yards. That neighbor has now filed a complaint with the DOB. The co-op isn’t sure what to expect from the process. They didn’t get a permit for the work and are concerned that because they have a multiple dwelling they should have done so. What should their next step be?
