From the Forum: Installing a New Door to a Rental Unit

Owners are making plans to renovate a two-family home and would like to move the entrance to one of the units and aren’t sure what code requirements might dictate placement and size of the door. The ideal spot for the new door is rather narrow. What might determine where they can place the door and the door width?
