On March 12 at the Brooklyn Historical Society, first-time home buyers will get some valuable information.
That’s when a panel of experts at “What First-Time Home Buyers Need to Know: Brooklyn” will offer heaps of advice on the pros and cons of renting vs. buying, options for financing, and how to think about renovating.
Emigrant Mortgage Bank’s Veronica Ferrero will talk about new grant options available for down-payment assistance to qualified first-time homebuyers. “The Federal Home Loan Bank of New York’s 2020 Homebuyer Dream Program will be available starting May 2020,” said Ferrero.
Sustainable architecture firm Urban Pioneering Architecture will also be on hand. Principal Jim Hill says they often meet homebuyers when they are considering an offer on a home. “We can provide a scope of work and a rough budget for the renovations, so the homebuyer can determine whether or not they can afford to renovate,” he said.
Join us at the Brooklyn Historical Society on March 12 from 6 to 8 p.m. for beer, wine and light bites provided by Oaxaca Taqueria. Event sponsors include Emigrant Mortgage, Avenue Sotheby’s International Realty, Urban Pioneering Architecture and Castrads.
