  1. You gotta come out and visit my friends on 23rd St. and see what junk they have to sell. It has been fun every year they have had it. I’ll be there looking for a bargain.

  2. There’s a lot going on this weekend. Tomorrow, Saturday, 5/15, is also “It’s My Park Day!” and many Brooklyn parks and playgrounds are holding volunteer clean-up, spruce-up, planting events. You can browse local events at http://bk.ly/rHc. Here’s my pitch for Butterfly Garden, the half-acre park near the Prospect Expressway, at 7th Avenue and 18th Street, northeast corner: We’ll be at the park from 10:00 to 3:30, tackling spring cleaning and summer planting. We’re also prepping the old sand-pit for the installation of some child-scaled, wheelchair-accessible planters we’re building, all part of a joint project with P.S.10 to create a barrier-free outdoor classroom there. We’ll have some architectural plans on display. We can use all the help we can get (and not just tomorrow: this isn’t a one-day project). If you’re in the South Slope, stop by.

  3. RE: the SONYA Stroll, I have work in my photography group’s show. The FGPO show on the SONYA tour is at South Oxford Space, Studio G, 138 So. Oxford St. It’s open 1–6b Sat. and 12–6 Sunday. We have a reception from 6–9 Saturday evening, To which all PLUSAs and other Brownstoner readers are invited.
