Local entrepreneur Alexander Hall has just opened his Australian style-cafe, Brunswick, at 144 Decatur Street on the corner of Marcus Garvey Boulevard in Bed Stuy. The sizable storefront serves up a full roster of Counter Culture coffee drinks, sandwiches, breakfast items and salads. The menu offers dishes like grilled peach salad with mint pesto, huevos rancheros baked eggs, and a kale apple avocado sandwich. The 48-seat eatery is open from 7:30 am to 6 pm Monday to Friday and 9 am to 6 pm on weekends.

Hall also plans to open a second Brunswick location at 240 Prospect Park West, on the border of Prospect Park and Windsor Terrace.

  1. +1 Good coffee and good food. Plus they got no competition really. Super French is the only other coffee shop around. I see they doing very well this summer, no question.

  2. I for one am pleased to have another food option in the neighborhood. The space looks great and the service was very good. I am hopeful that more small business owners will be willing to invest in the community. Welcome, Brunswick Cafe. That being said, it would be nice if they had evening hours too.
