About

Joel Voisard is a Queens-based, 3-D artist. Born in the rust belt, he earned a BFA in sculpture from Ohio State University and completed graduate work at Savannah College of Art and Design.

He moved to NYC in 2002 and has called it home since. Joel’s work has been exhibited and sold at The Future Perfect (solo exhibit),

Leslie-Lohman Museum of Gay and Lesbian Art, Subdivision Art, Henri Bendel, TenOverSix and American Design Club.

In 2009, he was selected as GLAAD's best emerging artist. He was also awarded a grant through the NYC Department of Transportation's Urban Arts Program for a public installation spanning the Pulaski Bridge.

Another large-scale, public installation at Astoria Park in Queens was completed in 2010.

His professional experience includes product design (Martha Stewart, Kmart, Target, Aviva Stanoff Design-textiles/housewares for Calvin Klein and Donna Karan,

Variety Accessories), visual design (Te Casan Soho, This and That, Subdivision Art), design and installation of 850sf virtual home display at Kmart corporate headquarters,

and a packaging patent purchased for worldwide distribution by Wal-Mart. Private clients include Usher, Maura Tierney, Shalom Harlow and a host of high profile clients.
