An explosion Saturday afternoon in Borough Park has killed one person and injured three, including one firefighter.
The explosion and fire at 4206 13th Avenue were reported just after 1 p.m., and more than 100 firefighters arrived to put out the flames, according to the New York Times. The official cause of the explosion is to be determined, but a gas leak is strongly suspected.
The city, via the Notify NYC alert program, advised staying clear of the area to avoid smoke exposure.
