My coop’s not-so-competent handyman is knocking on my door as I asked him to install kitchen faucet. But I am hiding from him… I mentioned the faucet to our super yesterday & he said I was crazy to have him do it. Super said I should say I wasn’t going to be home & he would find someone to do on handyman’s day off. Apparently everyone thinks he is incompetent but he has been there for 35 years & is in the union. Supers says only way he is going out is for his funeral. Also said he wouldn’t fit under my sink. Oye…

  1. At least he’s not like that creepy guy in One Day at a Time who was always hanging around. I think he gave McKenzie her first crack rock.

  2. supers and handymen rarely if ever get along. Supers are supposed to supervise handymen and of course prefer to do odd jobs themselves for the extra tips. If you have a good super, you don’t need a handyman. Better to put in an extra doorman shift or some such. But first you have to get him to agree to retire. $6,000 should do it.
