Here’s a good link regarding the Gowanus Tunnel…
http://www.nycroads.com/roads/gowanus/
It won’t be the same it will have the sewage from Atlantic Yards in it.
The Gowanus Tunnel project will go the way of Brooklyn Bridge Park…30 years of debate and paralysis.
An observation from the South Slope — after six very slow months (presumably caused by fear of bubble, higher interest rates, etc.), it seems like the market is warming back up. Condos such as the Carraige House are suddenly selling again, and the few houses that hit the market don’t seem to last long. Just my two cents.
Burying the gowanus has been discussed for over a decade. The post article presents the project as likely to pass. In fact it is more likely that a decade from now we will be discussing this project with little progress.
