You think this is bad you should see the property from the Northern side. I live next door and have been dealing with the construction stop and start for 2 years now, including debris falling into my backyard and leaks created by the work.
The Cof O is now for a 4 family. I think the plan is for condos…
I should have remembered this before I typed yesterday, but the LPC does not have control over calendared buildings. A calendared area is subject to the same destruction as non-calendared. The DOB gives the LPC has a window of time to review and have the community respond before the DOB will issue a permit, but from what I gather not much comes of this, and permits are issued.
She also reneged on her investors that bailed her out. She’s filed for bankruptcy more than once…she’s a first class scumbag.
“Annie Liebovitz couldn’t make this thing look good”
LOL–she has a pretty awful track record regarding landmark houses.
I’ve seen worse.
Not that I have anything against a vertical extension, but I would have done this differently.
pig…no, they are separate people working out of essentially the same office. M McC supposedly bought the Stuyvesant Ave house. He’s not the same as C-P, where there’s a different name on the permit. I suspect M McC will do a nice job.

I think the reader needs to work on his/her photography.
there was a swo, it was reviewed by lpc and approved. “Calendared” does not mean it has to adhere to lpc standards. Basically just cannot be out of context with the hood, which it is not. Was supposed to be condo, now looking like rentals givin the mkt. Its all legal. And Dave, the funny stone facade house on Stuy was sold to the same architect that did this one. 260k.
fellow neighbors…I noticed last week that some work had restarted inside the house that had burned on Stuyvesant Ave between MacDonough & Macon.
Also, the very narrow house on the other side of the block covered with the faux stone has sold…supposedly to someone who will do it properly.
