BRIC TV Introduces a New Series Exploring the Real Maps of Brooklyn

    by

BRIC TV is rolling out three new shows this week. If you’re interested in the borough’s shifting cultural landscape, make sure to tune in to On the Grid with Zephyr Teachout—a new series exploring the real maps of a rapidly changing Brooklyn.

Hosted by Zephyr Teachout, a 2014 Democratic gubernatorial candidate, the show uses data from CUNY’s Center for Urban Research to redraw traditional neighborhood boundaries.

The groundbreaking program features in-depth interviews with Republicans (yes, there are quite a few); Yiddish-speakers (same language, different sects); bike-to-work Brooklynites (not just hipsters); and African-American homeowners (more here than anywhere else in the Western Hemisphere). The premier aired at 8 p.m. on Monday, October 5th.

BRIC TV is an award-winning network devoted to showcasing the best of Brooklyn. The non-profit cable channel produces a diverse lineup of borough-centric documentaries, hyper-local news, scripted series, and more.

BRIC TV airs live on Time Warner Cable 756, Cablevision 70, Verizon 46, streams live on BRIC TV and posts to YouTube daily.
