Condo of the Day: 133 Sterling Place, #4C

Paging all (well off) families: There’s a big new apartment for sale at 133 Sterling Place in Park Slope. Located in a seven-year-old building at the corner of Sterling and 7th Avenue, the duplex apartment sports two bedrooms, a child-friendly “home office,” and a large private roof-top deck.

The kitchen and living area on the first level is quite large too. Asking price: $1,995,000.

  • This is an awesome two bedroom, what with the roof, the parking and the space… but it’s still only two bedrooms. I was intrigued by the “child friendly home office” thinking it was either an “office” that could become a nursery, or a place to put the kids to work… but doesn’t look (from floorplan) like it could really be a 3rd bedroom.

Overall less family-friendly than just straight up rich people willing to pay manhattan prices to live in park slope friendly.

as a bonus, the odds of a plane crashing into the building (again) must be incredibly low

  • And this $2MM condo pays just $133/mo in real estate taxes because …. no one would buy it otherwise? Disgusting tax abatements like this do nothing but drive up prices.

The next time I see a Condo of the Day that’s suited for less-well-off families will be the first.
