We were surprised to discover this sliver of a building going up between two much larger ones is being built as a food pantry for one of the adjoining apartment houses. The ownership hasn’t changed since 1997, when the city gave it to Northeast Brooklyn Housing Development Fund Corp. The permit was issued in February, and the architect is  Michael Ivanhoe McCaw.
